Description
Just got home from a larp where the temperature was as low as -8*C. Keeping warm without modern materials and without any house to warm up in was a challenge, but worked fine.
On the head I wear a woolen long hat. The liripipe hood can be pulled up to cover head and ears if standing still, or against the wind.
Around the neck is a woolen collar lined with sheep fur, and a liripipe hood over it. (The hood got much to warm when moving about, and was used when standing still.
I wear a long linen tunic underneath, a woolen tunic over it, and a shorter leather tunic on the outside. The leather is to keep snow from getting stuck in the fluffy wool fabric and melt there.
On the hands I wear sheep skin mittens, but at least the left one has to be removed before combat to speed up reloading the crossbow.
Linen braies furthest in, and then a pair of woolen hoses on the legs.
On the feet I have two pair of woolen socks, and well greased modern military boots.
Lesson learned; my shepherds purse did a wonderful job at carrying the clothes I had to remove when walking or fighting. I will definitely use it(or any other larger bag) again when larping in cold weather.

I really like everything... everything but the hat.
